New 6Tb NAS - Tuesday, June 22, 2010

The new 6Tb Buffalo Network Attached Storage (NAS), utilizing AES-128 data encryption, was installed tonight. With this new device we can do larger, faster and more backups between remote locations and the NOC. Configured as a RAID 5 NAS, it will be capable of holding 4.5TB (4500GB) of data for both internal and external customers.

The primary function for this unit will be to support the secure synchronization backup service for the internal and external customers. This service is able to synchronize an off line copy of critical company data quickly, efficiently and securely!

New Service - Monday, June 21, 2010

Today we released a new award-winning Content Management System (CMS) server solution called, Joomla. Written in PHP, this open source software can allows users to easily publish their content on the world wide web and intranet's. This is a 100% Open Source Content Management System which can support multilingual, role-based multi-user access, e-commerce features and online communities. Joomla was designed to be managed in a web browser with no extra software needed by the end user.

Today we upgraded the main firewall to the latest firmware. We continually keep our network services up to date to prevent unauthorized intrusions into customer content.

Today we upgraded our DNN server from build 5.4.1 to 5.4.2 which was released on April 28, 2010, the latest stable release from http://www.dotnetnuke.com/. Our DNN hosting customers can now enjoy a more robust, stable and secure solution.

Major Highlights:

  • Updated the Installation Wizard's Polish & German language packs.
  • Improved performance of Sql script for listing modules by portal.
  • Improved DeleteModule method to handle instances where object may be null.
  • Increased the number of Users that a DNN installation can handle to 2.14 billion.
  • Increased the size of the Admin - Pages list box to cater for sites with a large number of pages.
  • Removed "obsolete" state from DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.Sendmail.
  • Fixed issue with emailing Vendor details to the Admin and conformation details to the Vendor.
  • Fixed issue where Sitemap does not work if globalisation culture is a culture that uses comma as separator
  • Fixed issue with missing type specification in SiteMapSettings.
  • Fixed issue where upgrade fails when site has a non-'en-US' default language
  • Fixed issue with link editor showing pages the user does not have View permissions for.
  • Fixed issue with registration emails not being sent from Child Portals.
  • Fixed issue with Role update email not beiung sent to the user.
  • Fixed issue where default tabs for Site Settings were not created when creating settings for a new language.

  • Fixed rare issue where the install wizard could leak useful database connection information under certain conditions.
  • Fixed issue where messenging module failed to filter for dangerous html/script.

Today we upgraded our POP3 mail server to the latest version (4.3g2-2). With this upgrade, our customers can be assured we are providing the best protection and services for their messaging systems. 

  • Fix: Friends handling sporadic crashing issue (broken 4.3f-14, fixed 4.3h-30)
  • Fix: Bulletin crash issue triggered by certain unusual MIME formatting in manually / email generated bulletins (fixed 4.3h-30)

Today we upgraded our Web Statistics Service to version 6.6. With this upgrade we will be able to deliver deeper, accurate and cleaner reports for our web hosting customers. Some of the new features included in this update are:
